CAS:
Emtricitabine S-Oxide (EMTROX) is a sweetener that is categorized as an artificial sweetener. It is used in wastewater treatment and has been shown to be effective against influenza virus. EMTROX has been shown to be capable of destroying the infectivity of the influenza virus by mineralization. EMTROX also inhibits viral RNA synthesis and viral replication, which are essential for the production of new viruses. EMTROX was found to be effective against all strains of influenza A and B, including H1N1, H3N2, and seasonal flu strains. EMTROX is not active against other viruses such as herpes simplex virus or HIV-1.
Formula:C8H10FN3O4SPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:263.25 g/mol
