CAS 1562-85-2
:Gallocyanine
Description:
Gallocyanine, with the CAS number 1562-85-2, is a synthetic dye that belongs to the class of cyanine dyes. It is characterized by its vibrant blue color, which makes it useful in various applications, particularly in histology and microscopy for staining biological tissues. The compound exhibits a strong affinity for nucleic acids, allowing it to selectively bind to DNA and RNA, thereby enhancing contrast in microscopic imaging. Gallocyanine is soluble in water and can be used in aqueous solutions for staining purposes. Its chemical structure features a complex arrangement of aromatic rings and nitrogen atoms, contributing to its chromophoric properties. Additionally, gallocyanine is known for its stability under light exposure, making it suitable for long-term studies. However, like many synthetic dyes, it should be handled with care due to potential toxicity and environmental concerns. Overall, gallocyanine serves as a valuable tool in biological research, particularly in the visualization of cellular components.

CAS:
Gallocyanine is a fluorescent dye that emits blue light when it reacts with p-nitrophenyl phosphate (PNPP). It has been used as a model system to study the mechanism of myocardial infarct. Gallocyanine is a reactive, nuclear DNA-binding dye with high affinity for nuclei that can be used to detect and quantify the amount of nuclear DNA in cells. The fluorescence intensity of gallocyanine increases linearly with the concentration of PNPP added to the reaction solution. The kinetic measurements are linear with respect to time and fluorescence intensity, which makes it possible to calibrate a fluorescence probe using gallocyanine.
Formula:C15H13N2O5ClPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:336.73 g/mol
