Paramethasone acetate is a corticosteroid that is used to treat inflammatory bowel disease, alopecia areata, and hematopoietic cells. It inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines by binding to glucocorticoid receptors in the cytosol. This inhibitory effect leads to decreased inflammation. Paramethasone acetate also has anti-inflammatory effects on inflammatory diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The drug can be administered orally or topically.
