It has been shown to increase the membrane potential in rat sympathetic neurons and to inhibit voltage sensitive sodium channels in rat hippocampal neurons. This compound also activates K+ currents in a concentration dependent manner in human embryonic kidney cells, suggesting that it may have a therapeutic effect on disorders such as epilepsy or Alzheimer's disease.</p>
