CAGED ATP, DISODIUM SALT

Description:
CAGED ATP, disodium salt, is a photolabile compound derived from adenosine triphosphate (ATP) that is commonly used in biochemical research to study cellular processes. The term "CAGED" refers to the presence of a protective group that prevents the compound from interacting with biological targets until it is activated by light. Upon exposure to specific wavelengths of light, CAGED ATP releases free ATP, allowing researchers to manipulate ATP levels in living cells or in vitro systems with temporal precision. This characteristic makes it a valuable tool for investigating ATP-dependent processes, such as muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and signal transduction pathways. The disodium salt form enhances its solubility in aqueous solutions, facilitating its use in various experimental setups. CAGED ATP is typically used in studies involving photopharmacology and optogenetics, where precise control over molecular interactions is essential. Overall, CAGED ATP, disodium salt, serves as a crucial reagent in the exploration of cellular dynamics and the role of ATP in biological systems.

  • P3-(1-(2-Nitrophenyl)ethyl) adenosine 5'-triphosphate disodium salt

    CAS:

P3-(1-(2-Nitrophenyl)ethyl) adenosine 5'-triphosphate disodium salt (P3-ANP-Na2) is an anticancer drug that belongs to the group of nucleosides. It is a phosphoramidate prodrug that is converted to adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) by intracellular esterases. This prodrug has been shown to inhibit the growth of various types of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, including leukemia and breast cancer cells. P3-ANP-Na2 binds to DNA by intercalation, inhibiting DNA synthesis and transcription. It also inhibits protein synthesis by inhibiting ribonucleotide reductase and deoxyribonucleotide reductase, which are enzymes responsible for synthesizing DNA precursors from RNA precursors.
