The enzyme hydrolysis of glycerol 1-(26-hydroxyhexacosanoate) by cytochrome P450 2B6 produces 26-hydroxycholesterol and 26-hydroxydihydrocorticosterone, which have been shown to have antiplasmodial activity as well.
