N-tert-Butylpiperidine-2-carboxamide
CAS:
N-tert-Butylpiperidine-2-carboxamide is a small molecule that has been shown to bind to the cavity of the active site of human thiopurine S-methyltransferase (TPMT), blocking access by substrates and competitive inhibitors. It was synthesized as a peptidomimetic inhibitor for TPMT, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the methylation of thiopurines, such as 6-MP. The X-ray crystallographic studies revealed that N-tert-butylpiperidine-2-carboxamide is a homodimeric molecule with two binding sites on each monomer. The inhibition of TPMT by N-tert-butylpiperidine-2-carboxamide results in increased levels of 6MP and decreased levels of 6TG, leading to improved therapeutic outcomes when given with 6MP.
Formula:C10H20N2OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:184.28 g/mol
