Oleanonic acid is a natural product that belongs to the group of compounds called dehydrocostus lactones. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in leukemia cells, with an IC 50 of 0.1 μM. It activates caspase-3 and caspase-8, leading to the cleavage of PARP and DNA fragmentation.
