BAY-1436032 is a novel small molecule inhibitor of CXCR4. It has been shown to be an effective treatment for cancer in vitro, with potent inhibition of cancer cell growth and anti-leukemic activity. BAY-1436032 is orally bioavailable and has good pharmacokinetic properties. It binds specifically to the CXCR4 receptor, blocking the binding of stromal cell-derived factor 1α (SDF1α) and its chemokine ligand 4 (CXCL4). This drug has also been shown to inhibit the proliferation of leukemia stem cells in vitro and in vivo, as well as suppressing sarcoma cell growth.
