3-Cyclopropylfuran-2-carboxylic acid
CAS:
3-Cyclopropylfuran-2-carboxylic acid is a benzene derivative. It reacts with hydrogen chloride to produce 3-chlorobenzaldehyde, which can be further reacted with phosphite to produce paraformaldehyde. The reaction product of 3-cyclopropylfuran-2-carboxylic acid and zinc chloride is cyclopropylbenzene. This compound can be hydrolyzed by esterases or oxidized by cytochrome P450 enzymes to produce 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde, which is then cleaved by esterases. The cleavage of the cyclopropane ring in 3-cyclopropylfuran-2-carboxylic acid produces ethyl propiolate and methyl butyrate.
Formula:C8H8O3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:152.15 g/mol
