:zinc hexafluorosilicate hexahydrate
Description:
Zinc hexafluorosilicate hexahydrate is an inorganic compound with the formula Zn(SiF6)·6H2O. It is a crystalline solid that typically appears as colorless or white crystals. This compound is a salt formed from zinc ions and hexafluorosilicate anions, which are derived from the reaction of zinc with hexafluorosilicic acid. It is soluble in water, and its solubility can lead to the release of fluoride ions in solution, which can have implications for its use in various applications. Zinc hexafluorosilicate hexahydrate is often utilized in the field of materials science, particularly in the synthesis of fluorinated compounds and as a precursor in the production of fluorinated silicates. Additionally, it may have applications in the treatment of water and in the manufacturing of certain types of glass and ceramics. As with many fluoride compounds, it should be handled with care due to potential toxicity and environmental concerns associated with fluoride exposure.

CAS:
Zinc silicofluoride is a mixture of zinc and silicofluoride that has been used as a detergent additive. It is marketed in the United States under the trade name Zepel®. The chemical stability of this product is enhanced by adding amides, such as tetraphenyl and diphenyl ethers. Zinc silicofluoride also has antimicrobial properties and can be used to inhibit growth of bacteria, fungi, and algae. Zinc silicofluoride may react with calcium carbonate in hard water to form insoluble zinc carbonate, which precipitates out on metal surfaces such as copper pipes. This reaction may interfere with the effectiveness of the product.
Formula:ZnSiF6Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:207.46 g/mol
