CAS:<p>7-Deazapurine is a cytostatic agent that inhibits the polymerase chain reaction by competitive inhibition of the incorporation of nucleotides into DNA. It has potent antitumor activity and significant cytotoxicity, which are due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis and cell division. 7-Deazapurine is also a nucleophilic compound that reacts with hydroxyl groups in DNA.
