CAS:2-(2,6Dioxopiperidin-3-yl)-4-nitroisoindoline-1,3-dione is an anti-inflammatory drug that has been shown to inhibit the production of prostaglandins. It inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes. 2-(2,6Dioxopiperidin-3-yl)-4-nitroisoindoline-1,3-dione also has angiogenic activity and can be used as a potential treatment for inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. The drug is not active against cancer cells and has no toxic effects on healthy cells unlike other drugs in this class.
