CAS 192374-15-5
:(-)-(2R,3R)-2-(3-chlorophenyl)-3,5,5-trimethyl-2-morpholinol
Description:
The chemical substance known as "(-)-(2R,3R)-2-(3-chlorophenyl)-3,5,5-trimethyl-2-morpholinol" with CAS number 192374-15-5 is a chiral morpholinol derivative. It features a morpholine ring, which is a six-membered heterocyclic compound containing one nitrogen atom and five carbon atoms. The presence of the 3-chlorophenyl group indicates that it has a chlorine substituent on a phenyl ring, which can influence its biological activity and solubility. The compound's stereochemistry, denoted by the (2R,3R) configuration, suggests specific spatial arrangements of its substituents, which can significantly affect its pharmacological properties. Morpholinols are often studied for their potential applications in medicinal chemistry, particularly as intermediates in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. The trimethyl groups contribute to the steric bulk of the molecule, potentially impacting its interactions with biological targets. Overall, this compound's unique structure and stereochemistry make it a subject of interest in various chemical and biological research fields.

CAS:
(R,R)-Hydroxy bupropion is a drug that acts as a norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor. It has been used in the treatment of depression and smoking cessation. The hydroxybenzene moiety can be used to determine the enantiopurity of (R,R)-hydroxy bupropion by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. This method is based on the assumption that the retention time of (R,R)-hydroxy bupropion will be longer than that of its (-) enantiomer. The elimination rate and formation rate are dependent on the plasma protein α1-acid glycoprotein. The elimination half-life for (R,R)-hydroxy bupropion is about 12 hours in humans with an average weight of 70 kg. It has been shown to interact with other drugs such as fluoxetine, which may cause serotonin syndrome.
Formula:C13H18ClNO2Purity:Min. 94 Area-%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:255.74 g/mol
