FITC-YVADAPK(Dnp) is a specific FRET substrate for the determination of caspase-1 and caspase-1 like enzyme activities. Cleavage of FITC-YVADAPK(Dnp) at the P1 Asp residue results in a continuous fluorescent assay. It is useful both in FACS and fluorescence microscopy experiments. Caspase-3 is only weakly active using this substrate. The cleavage product FITC-YVAD can be used as reference substance.
