:Calcium dobesilate
Description:
Calcium dobesilate is a chemical compound primarily used for its therapeutic properties, particularly in the treatment of various vascular disorders. It is classified as a sulfonic acid derivative and is known for its ability to improve microcirculation and reduce capillary permeability. The compound exhibits anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, making it beneficial in managing conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and chronic venous insufficiency. Calcium dobesilate is typically administered in oral form and is well-tolerated, with a favorable safety profile. Its mechanism of action involves the stabilization of cell membranes and the inhibition of platelet aggregation, which contributes to its vascular protective effects. The compound is often formulated in combination with other medications to enhance its efficacy. While it is not universally approved in all countries, it remains a valuable option in specific therapeutic contexts. As with any medication, potential side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, and it is essential for patients to consult healthcare professionals before use.

CAS:
Calcium dobesilate is a calcium salt that emits chemiluminescence in the presence of an oxidant. It has been used as a treatment for hypercalcemia, which is caused by high levels of calcium in the blood, and to prevent skin cancer. The experimental model was conducted on human serum and showed that calcium dobesilate reduced the enzyme activities in serum samples by 30% after 15 minutes of incubation. This reduction was statistically significant when compared to untreated groups. Calcium dobesilate also inhibited the growth of skin cancer cells in a pharmacological agent-induced experimental model.
Formula:C8H6O5S•Ca0Purity:Min. 98 Area-%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:418.41 g/mol
