    <p>(+)-Potassium ds-threo-isocitrate monobasic is a dehydrogenase inhibitor that blocks the conversion of isocitrate to alpha-ketoglutarate, which is required for the production of energy. This drug can be used as a treatment for glioblastoma multiforme. (+)-Potassium ds-threo-isocitrate monobasic has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. It inhibits glioma cell proliferation and migration, induces apoptosis, and inhibits angiogenesis. The inhibition of tumor growth by this drug may be due to its ability to inhibit the metabolism of isocitrate into alpha-ketoglutarate and ATP synthesis, which leads to elevated levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS). This drug also inhibits matrix metalloproteases (MMP) activity at high doses, but not at low doses.</p>
