3-Chloropropanoic anhydride
CAS:3-Chloropropanoic anhydrideFormula:C6H8Cl2O3Purity:95%Molecular weight:199.033-Chloropropionic anhydride
CAS:3-Chloropropionic anhydride (3CP) is a reagent that contains the carboxylic acid group. It is used for esterification reactions, such as in the synthesis of succinimidyl 3-chloropropionate, which is used for peptide coupling. 3CP is also used to synthesize activated esters, such as N-succinimidyl 3-chloropropionate and N-succinimidyl 4-(maleimido)butyrate. The compound has been shown to react with carboxylic acids to form an anhydride. The reaction of 3CP with isovalerate forms the corresponding isovaleramide analogues.
