    <p>2,3,5,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-D-galactono-1,4-lactone is a morpholidate that can be synthesized from l-fucose and phosphates. This chemical has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. The compound also inhibits the production of diphosphorylated guanosine (GDP) from guanosine monophosphate (GMP), which may be important in the regulation of cellular growth. 2,3,5,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-D-galactono-1,4-lactone has also been shown to inhibit the conversion of GMP into GTP by binding to the enzyme GMP synthase.</p>
