CAS:<p>2-Chloro-N-(4-chlorophenyl)propanamide is an acetanilide that is used as a research chemical in the preparation of other compounds. It also has been used to synthesize chloroacetanilides and chloroanilides. 2-Chloro-N-(4-chlorophenyl)propanamide can be prepared by reacting 4-chloroaniline with acetic anhydride and potassium chloride in a basic solution. The reaction will take place at room temperature, but will produce a greater yield when heated to 40°C for 1 hour.
