The trifluoromethyl group stabilizes the molecule in a reactive pseudo-first order kinetics. 1-Methyl-5-(trifluoromethyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-2,4-dione has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of thymidylate and thus it can be used for the treatment of cancer.</p>
