3,8-Diazabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-2-one is a compound that contains an enolate group, which is the conjugate base of an enol. It has been used to synthesize cycloadducts and peptidomimetics as well as for research purposes. 3,8-Diazabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-2-one has also been shown to inhibit farnesyltransferase and may be useful in the treatment of cancer due to its ability to halt the production of proteins that regulate cell division and growth.
