:Tioclomarol
Description:
Tioclomarol is an anticoagulant medication primarily used in the treatment and prevention of thromboembolic disorders. It functions as a vitamin K antagonist, inhibiting the synthesis of vitamin K-dependent clotting factors, which are essential for normal blood coagulation. This compound is characterized by its ability to reduce the risk of blood clots, making it valuable in clinical settings, particularly for patients with conditions such as deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism. Tioclomarol is typically administered orally and has a relatively long half-life, allowing for once-daily dosing in many cases. Its pharmacokinetics can be influenced by various factors, including diet and concurrent medications, necessitating careful monitoring of coagulation parameters, such as prothrombin time or INR (International Normalized Ratio). While effective, tioclomarol may also pose risks of bleeding, and its use requires a thorough assessment of patient history and potential drug interactions. As with any anticoagulant, the balance between therapeutic efficacy and safety is crucial in its clinical application.

CAS:
Tioclomarol is a drug that is used to treat severe atherosclerotic lesions in coronary heart disease. It binds to the receptor on the surface of the cardiac muscle cells, which causes an increase in intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and a decrease in intracellular calcium. This results in relaxation of the heart tissue, which decreases blood pressure and prevents plaque formation. Tioclomarol also has been shown to prevent heparin-induced thrombocytopenia by binding to platelets and preventing their aggregation. Tioclomarol has been found to inhibit cellular proliferation in some types of cancer cells, but not others.
Formula:C22H16Cl2O4SPurity:Min. 95 Area-%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:447.33 g/molTioclomarol
