Tetrabutylphosphonium chloride is an ionic, acid complex that is soluble in water or organic solvents. It has been used in a number of reactions as a catalyst and reagent. This drug also inhibits the release of glucose into the bloodstream by blocking potassium channels located in pancreatic beta cells.
