It inhibits the activity of two enzymes, acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase, which are responsible for regulating the production of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the brain. Cycloheptylmethanesulfonyl chloride also inhibits other enzymes involved in the synthesis of proteins in neurons, leading to neuronal damage. Cycloheptylmethanesulfonyl chloride has been shown to be effective against neurological disorders such as neurodegenerative diseases and nerve damage.
