:4-Amino-7-(trifluoromethyl)quinoline
Description:
4-Amino-7-(trifluoromethyl)quinoline is an organic compound characterized by its quinoline structure, which consists of a fused benzene and pyridine ring. The presence of an amino group (-NH2) at the 4-position and a trifluoromethyl group (-CF3) at the 7-position significantly influences its chemical properties and reactivity. This compound is typically a solid at room temperature and exhibits moderate solubility in organic solvents. The trifluoromethyl group enhances its lipophilicity and can affect its biological activity, making it of interest in medicinal chemistry and drug development. Additionally, the amino group can participate in hydrogen bonding, influencing its interactions with other molecules. The compound may exhibit fluorescence, making it useful in various applications, including as a dye or in biological imaging. Its unique structural features also suggest potential applications in the synthesis of other chemical entities or as a building block in organic synthesis. Safety data should be consulted for handling, as with all chemical substances, to ensure proper precautions are taken.

CAS:
4-Amino-7-(trifluoromethyl)quinoline (4AQ) is an antihypertensive agent that belongs to the class of ketones. It is a chemical compound that has been found to be an oxidative, antihypertensive agent for rats. 4AQ was found to decrease blood pressure in rats by inhibiting the production of nitric oxide and other reactive oxygen species. 4AQ also has been shown to have antihypertensive activity in mice by inhibiting calcium ion influx through voltage-gated calcium channels. This results in decreased intracellular calcium concentrations, which causes a decrease in the release of norepinephrine from sympathetic nerves and subsequently decreases blood pressure.
Formula:C10H7F3N2Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:212.17 g/mol
