7α,24(S)-Dihydroxycholesterol
CAS:Controlled ProductFormula:C27H46O3Color and Shape:NeatMolecular weight:418.6527α,24(S)-Dihydroxycholesterol
CAS:Controlled Product
7α,24(S)-Dihydroxycholesterol (7α,24(S)-DHCH) is a fatty acid that is produced by the liver and is an intermediate in cholesterol biosynthesis. 7α,24(S)-DHCH has been detected in plasma samples of patients with cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis (CTX). It has also been found to be elevated in tuberculosis patients with carotid involvement. The levels of 7α,24(S)-DHCH were found to be higher than those of other oxysterols in CTX patients. In order to identify the origin of this molecule, a LC-MS/MS method was developed for the detection and quantification of 7α,24(S)-DHCH. This method uses chemical ionization for mass spectrometric analysis and can detect 7α,24(S)-DHCH at concentrations as low as 1 ng/mL. Histological analyses were conducted on human tissue samples
Formula:C27H46O3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:418.65 g/mol7α,24(S)-Dihydroxycholesterol
CAS:
7α,24(S)-Dihydroxycholesterol ((3β,7α,24S)-Cholest-5-ene-3,7,24-triol) acts as a ligand for liver X receptors (LXR), specifically binding to the ligand-binding domains of LXRα and LXRβ. This compound is synthesized through the E-α,β-unsaturated ketone process, starting with arsindole and J-secondary-butyl dimethylsiloxy-bis-positive-5-cholestenal as the initial materials. It undergoes a series of transformations to produce 7α,24(S)-dihydroxycholesterol.
Formula:C27H46O3Color and Shape:SolidMolecular weight:418.65
