This product is used for the detection of phosphoglucomutase by its ability to react with this enzyme and produce a blue or green color. Aldol® 535 myo-inositol-1-phosphate, ammonium salt is also used as a ligand in fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) experiments.
