CAS:1,2-Benzanthraquinone is a molecule that reacts with oxygen to form light exposure reaction products. It has been shown to be an effective dose against rats and mice. The hydroxy derivative of 1,2-benzanthraquinone has been shown to have high antibacterial activity against marine microorganisms. The analytical method for the determination of benzanthraquinones includes a reaction with phosphorus pentoxide in an organic solvent followed by distillation and analysis by gas chromatography or mass spectrometry. This compound is also used as a reagent in analytical chemistry for the detection of aromatic hydrocarbons and dinucleotide phosphate.
