:Monoolein
Description:
Monoolein, also known as glycerol monooleate, is a glycerol ester of oleic acid, characterized by its unique structure that includes a long hydrophobic hydrocarbon tail and a hydrophilic glycerol head. This amphiphilic nature allows monoolein to function effectively as an emulsifier and surfactant in various applications, including food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. It is a colorless to pale yellow, viscous liquid at room temperature, with a slightly sweet taste and a characteristic fatty odor. Monoolein is known for its ability to form lipid bilayers and is often utilized in drug delivery systems, particularly for encapsulating hydrophobic drugs. Additionally, it exhibits biocompatibility and biodegradability, making it an attractive option in formulations aimed at minimizing environmental impact. Its melting point is relatively low, and it is soluble in organic solvents while being insoluble in water. Overall, monoolein's versatile properties make it a valuable compound in both industrial and research settings.

CAS:
Glycerine monooleate is a redox potential (RP) stabilizer. It is a biocompatible polymer that can be used for the preparation of vancomycin hydrochloride capsules. The RP stabilizers can prevent the oxidation of vancomycin hydrochloride, which may lead to its instability in human serum and skin cancer cells. Glycerine monooleate has been shown to have an optimum concentration of 1-5% in order to stabilize the RP of vancomycin hydrochloride. Experimental models have shown that glycerine monooleate's ability to bind with sodium salts and form disulfide bonds are responsible for its ability to stabilize the RP of vancomycin hydrochloride.
Formula:C21H40O4Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:356.54 g/mol
