CAS:1,3-Bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazolidin-2-ylidene (BDPI) is a metathesis catalyst that is used for the asymmetric synthesis of organic compounds. It is a palladium complex that undergoes reductive elimination to form a new carbon-carbon bond. BDPI has been shown to be selective for the formation of chiral products in cross-coupling reactions and has been used in the synthesis of natural products. The structure of BDPI was elucidated with x-ray crystallography and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
