    <p>2,3,5,6-Tetramethylbenzoic acid (TMB) is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in organic solvents and slightly soluble in water. It is used as a precursor for the manufacture of dyes, pharmaceuticals, and other organic compounds. TMB has been shown to be an effective catalyst for the use of malonic acid as a substrate.
