CAS:2,4-Dichloropyridine is a synthetic chemical that binds to benzodiazepine receptors and has been shown to have an anxiolytic effect in experimental animals. In addition, 2,4-Dichloropyridine has been shown to be a cb2 agonist and an amine. It is also involved in the synthesis of heterocyclic amines from amines and nucleophilic nucleophile reactions. The acylation reaction with sulfamic acid yields 2,4-dichloropyridine-5-sulfonic acid. This compound is also used as a precursor for the synthesis of corticotropin releasing factor (CRF).

CAS:Controlled ProductApplications 2,4-Dichloropyridine is a versatile reactant used in the preparation of host materials for light-emitting diodes with heterocyclic cores. Also used in the preparation of sulfonylated pyridines, pyrazine and quinoline via aromatic nucleophilic substitution of azines with sodium sulfinates.
