CAS:Alternariol is a natural compound that has been found to be structurally similar to the chemotherapeutic drug taxol. It has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against tumor cells in vitro and in vivo, with no toxicity to normal cells. Alternariol has also been shown to inhibit HIV replication in cell cultures and animal models. Structural analysis of alternariol revealed that it binds to the matrix effect region of the viral reverse transcriptase protein, which is essential for its enzymatic activity. Alternariol monomethyl ether (AME) is a metabolite of alternariol, which can be detected in mouse plasma following administration of AME. AME was also shown to be active against murine hepatoma cells and other cancer cell lines, but not against normal cells.Formula:C15H12O5Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:272.25 g/mol
