CAS:
4-Ethyl-2-methoxyphenol is a phenolic compound that can be used as an antioxidant and a preservative. It has been shown to inhibit the production of nitric oxide, which may be due to its ability to inhibit intracellular Ca2+ levels. 4-Ethyl-2-methoxyphenol also inhibits the LPS induced inflammatory response in human serum. The optimum concentration of 4-Ethyl-2-methoxyphenol for this activity is around 100 µg/ml. This chemical was found to have high chemical stability, with no observed changes over time at various temperatures or pH levels. In addition, 4-Ethyl-2-methoxyphenol has been shown to have antihistamine properties in vitro. The reaction mechanism for this activity is unknown but is believed to involve oxidation from the catalytic effect of Cu2+.
Formula:C9H12O2Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Colorless Clear LiquidMolecular weight:152.19 g/mol
