CAS 28002-70-2
:Framycetin sulfate
Description:
Framycetin sulfate, with the CAS number 28002-70-2, is an aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from the bacterium *Friedländer's bacillus*. It is primarily used for its antibacterial properties, particularly against Gram-negative bacteria. The substance is characterized by its ability to inhibit bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, which disrupts the translation process. Framycetin sulfate is often utilized in topical formulations for treating skin infections and is also found in some ophthalmic preparations. It is soluble in water and exhibits a relatively low toxicity profile when applied topically. However, like other aminoglycosides, it can pose risks of ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity when used systemically. The sulfate form enhances its solubility and stability, making it suitable for pharmaceutical applications. As with any antibiotic, the emergence of resistance is a concern, necessitating careful consideration of its use in clinical settings.

CAS:
Framycetin sulphate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is used to treat microbial infections. It has been shown to be effective against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Framycetin sulphate prevents bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis through binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit. This binding inhibits the incorporation of amino acids into proteins, thereby preventing the production of new proteins required for cell division and growth. Framycetin sulphate also has preservative properties, which may be due to its ability to chelate metal ions such as copper and iron. Framycetin sulphate can be administered orally or topically in vivo model studies. The drug was not found to have any significant toxic effects on the liver or kidneys in vivo model studies at concentrations up to 40%.
Formula:C23H52N6O25S3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:908.88 g/mol
