1-Methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (commonly referred to as MPTP) is a synthetic compound known for its neurotoxic effects, particularly on dopaminergic neurons. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a characteristic odor.
