CAS 2886-65-9
:Desalkylflurazepam
Description:
Desalkylflurazepam, with the CAS number 2886-65-9, is a chemical compound that belongs to the benzodiazepine class of drugs. It is a metabolite of flurazepam, which is primarily used as a sedative and anxiolytic. Desalkylflurazepam exhibits anxiolytic, hypnotic, and muscle relaxant properties, making it relevant in the study of pharmacology and toxicology. The compound is characterized by its ability to bind to the GABA-A receptor, enhancing the inhibitory effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the central nervous system. This action contributes to its sedative effects. Desalkylflurazepam is typically found in biological samples as a result of the metabolism of flurazepam, and its detection can be significant in forensic toxicology. The substance is generally considered to have a longer half-life than its parent compound, which may influence its pharmacokinetics and potential for accumulation in the body. As with other benzodiazepines, caution is advised due to the potential for dependence and withdrawal symptoms.

CAS:Controlled Product
7-Chloro-5-(2-fluorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one is a GABA receptor antagonist that is used in the treatment of anxiety. It is an analogue of cinolazepam, which has been shown to inhibit the binding of gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) to its receptors in human serum and urine samples. Cinolazepam was found to be more potent than 7-chloro-5-(2-fluorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-2H-1,4 benzodiazepin 2 one in blocking the binding of GABA to its receptor. This drug has also been tested on geriatric patients with high levels of anxiety and found to be well tolerated.
Formula:C15H10ClFN2OPurity:Min. 98 Area-%Color and Shape:White PowderMolecular weight:288.7 g/mol
