:1,3-Dihydro-5-phenyl-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one
Description:
1,3-Dihydro-5-phenyl-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one, with the CAS number 2898-08-0, is a chemical compound belonging to the benzodiazepine class, which is characterized by a fused benzene and diazepine ring structure. This compound typically exhibits a white to off-white crystalline appearance and is known for its potential pharmacological properties, including anxiolytic and sedative effects. The presence of the phenyl group at the 5-position contributes to its unique chemical reactivity and biological activity. Its molecular structure includes a carbonyl group, which is significant for its reactivity and interactions with biological targets. The compound is soluble in organic solvents, but its solubility in water is limited, which is common for many benzodiazepines. Due to its structural characteristics, it may interact with the central nervous system, although specific therapeutic applications and safety profiles would require further investigation. As with many compounds in this class, it is essential to handle it with care, considering potential toxicity and regulatory status.

CAS:Controlled Product
Clozapine N-oxide is a metabolite of clozapine. It has been found in the plasma of patients treated with clozapine and in urine samples from schizophrenic patients. The formation of clozapine N-oxide is due to the oxidative deamination of clozapine by plasma proteins such as cytochrome P450, which are present at high levels in the liver and other organs. Clozapine N-oxide is a fluorescent substance that can be detected spectrometrically. Clozapine N-oxide can be synthesized by reacting 1,3-dihydro-5-phenyl-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one with sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide in an organic solvent. This compound can then be conjugated with glucuronic acid or sulfate, or undergo modifications such as oxidation to form clozapine OXN.
Formula:C15H12N2OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:236.27 g/mol2H-1,4-Benzodiazepin-2-one, 1,3-dihydro-5-phenyl-
