:Glucosamine sulfate
Description:
Glucosamine sulfate is an amino sugar and a derivative of glucose, commonly used as a dietary supplement, particularly for joint health. It is often found in the form of glucosamine sulfate potassium chloride or glucosamine sulfate sodium chloride. This compound is characterized by its ability to support the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans, which are essential components of cartilage. Glucosamine sulfate is known for its potential anti-inflammatory properties and is frequently used in the management of osteoarthritis symptoms. It is typically administered orally and is well-absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The substance is generally considered safe for most individuals, although some may experience mild gastrointestinal discomfort. Its solubility in water allows for easy formulation in various supplement forms, including tablets, capsules, and powders. As a naturally occurring compound, glucosamine sulfate is often derived from shellfish or produced synthetically, making it accessible for supplementation. Overall, it plays a significant role in promoting joint health and mobility, particularly in aging populations.

CAS:
D-Glucosamine sulfate is a pharmacological agent that has been shown to have activity against oxidative injury in vitro and in vivo. It inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species and lipid peroxidation, which are believed to be responsible for the development of liver disease. D-Glucosamine sulfate has also been shown to have activity against infectious diseases, with a particular focus on the inhibition of Toll-like receptor 4 signaling. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique was used to detect the expression of glucosamine synthetase and other genes encoding enzymes that synthesize glucosamine in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This drug may also be useful for treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, as it has been shown to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, which is involved in the inflammatory response.
Formula:C6H13NO5•H2SO4Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:White PowderMolecular weight:277.25 g/molD-Glucosamine Salt (Sulfate/Chloride)
