    4-Bromobenzhydrol is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme histamine N-methyltransferase that is used in the treatment of chronic inflammatory disorders. In pharmacological tests, 4-bromobenzhydrol has been shown to be an inhibitor of acidic aldehyde reactions and also inhibits hypophosphorous acid formation.
