(±)-2-Hydroxydodecanoic Acid
CAS:Controlled ProductApplications (8Z,11Z,14Z)-8,11,14-Heptadecatrienoic Acid, is a naturally occurring hydroxylated fatty acid that is found in Acinetobacter species. It acts as a partial agonist of free fatty acid receptor 1 (FFAR1/GPR40) and GPR84 receptors in vitro. It also inhibits bovine hepatic ligase (Ki = 4.4 μM) and mouse kidney mitochondrial medium-chain acyl-CoA synthetase by 48% at a concentration of 40 μM.

CAS:2-Hydroxydodecanoic acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the class of amides. It is used in the study of natural compounds and microbial enzymes. This compound has been shown to inhibit bacterial enzyme activities, such as beta-lactamase, DNA gyrase, and topoisomerase IV. 2-Hydroxydodecanoic acid has also been found to be an antimicrobial agent against a variety of bacteria, including E. coli and S. aureus. The sample preparation for this compound included the use of picolinic acid as a reagent. It was also determined that 2-hydroxydodecanoic acid contains a hydroxyl group in its chemical structure.
