2-Chloro-5-fluoropyridine is a chlorinated pyridine that is used as an efficient method to introduce the chlorine atom. It has been shown to be cytotoxic against cancer cell lines, including epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and factor receptor (PDGFR). 2-Chloro-5-fluoropyridine has been found to inhibit kinase domain activation of EGFR and PDGFR, which inhibits the phosphorylation of these receptors.
