:Berberine, sulfate
Description:
Berberine sulfate is a quaternary ammonium salt derived from the isoquinoline alkaloid berberine, which is commonly found in various plants, including goldenseal and barberry. It is characterized by its bright yellow color and is known for its potential pharmacological properties, including antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antidiabetic effects. The sulfate form enhances its solubility in water, making it more bioavailable for various applications, particularly in herbal medicine and dietary supplements. Berberine sulfate exhibits a complex mechanism of action, influencing multiple biochemical pathways, including glucose metabolism and lipid regulation. Additionally, it has been studied for its potential role in modulating gut microbiota and supporting cardiovascular health. While generally considered safe, berberine sulfate can interact with certain medications, and its use should be approached with caution, particularly in individuals with underlying health conditions or those taking other pharmaceuticals. Overall, berberine sulfate is a compound of significant interest in both traditional and modern medicine due to its diverse therapeutic potential.

CAS:
Umbellatin is a natural compound that has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against a variety of microorganisms. It was found to inhibit the growth of infectious pathogens, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes and Escherichia coli. The mechanism of action of umbellatin is not yet fully understood but it has been proposed that it may inhibit the synthesis of bacterial DNA by binding to the enzyme polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This hypothesis is supported by experiments which showed that berberine also inhibits PCR. Umbellatin also shows synergistic effects when combined with basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in skin tumor formation in mice. In addition, umbellatin has been shown to prevent hepatic steatosis in animals and has been proposed for treatment of metabolic disorders.
Formula:C40H36N2O12S·xH2OPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:768.79 g/molBerberine Sulfate
