:Nicarbazin
Description:
Nicarbazin is a synthetic chemical compound primarily used as an anti-coccidial agent in veterinary medicine, particularly in poultry. It is a member of the nitrobenzene class and is characterized by its dual action, functioning as both a growth promoter and a coccidiostat. The compound exhibits a complex structure that includes a nitro group, which contributes to its biological activity. Nicarbazin is known for its low solubility in water, which influences its bioavailability and efficacy in animal feed formulations. It acts by interfering with the energy metabolism of coccidia, thereby inhibiting their growth and reproduction. Additionally, Nicarbazin has been studied for its potential effects on the reproductive system and its safety profile in food-producing animals. Regulatory agencies have established guidelines for its use to ensure that residues in animal products remain within safe limits for human consumption. Overall, Nicarbazin plays a significant role in poultry health management, contributing to improved production efficiency and animal welfare.

CAS:
Nicarbazin is a drug that has been used in the treatment of liver lesions caused by nicotinic acid. Nicarbazin is a potent inhibitor of bacterial nitrite reductase and has been found to be active against Gram-positive bacteria. Nicarbazin inhibits the growth of certain Gram-negative bacteria, but not others. Nicarbazin also has some inhibitory effects on human serum methylamine N-methyltransferase, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of nicotine and nicotinic acid. Nicarbazin binds to receptor sites on cells and prevents the formation of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) from NADH and ATP. This inhibition causes an increase in intracellular levels of NADH, which leads to an increase in glycolysis.
Formula:C13H10N4O5·C6H8N2OPurity:Min. 98 Area-%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:426.38
