• H-Ala-Leu-OH

    CAS:

H-Ala-Leu-OH is a chemical compound that is found in urine samples. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against the E. coli K-12 strain, and also has the ability to bind to the bacterial cell wall. This molecule can be synthesized by solid-phase synthesis from H-Ala-OH and L-Leu-OH, which are commercially available. This amino acid can form a disulfide bond with cysteine residues of subtilisin, which prevents formation of a disulfide bridge between two cysteine residues in subtilisins. The alcohol-induced liver injury model in rats showed that H-Ala-Leu-OH reduced the hepatic injury as well as the glomerular filtration rate in bovines. It has also been shown to reduce fatty acid levels in rats with intestinal inflammation, indicating it may have therapeutic potential for this condition.
