2H-Isoindole-2-carboxamide,1,3-dihydro-

Description:
2H-Isoindole-2-carboxamide, also known by its CAS number 3364-57-6, is a chemical compound characterized by its isoindole structure, which features a bicyclic system consisting of a five-membered ring fused to a six-membered ring. This compound typically exhibits properties associated with amides, including the ability to form hydrogen bonds due to the presence of the carboxamide functional group. It is generally a solid at room temperature and may be soluble in polar organic solvents. The compound is of interest in various fields, including medicinal chemistry, due to its potential biological activity. Its structure allows for interactions with biological targets, making it a candidate for further research in drug development. Additionally, the presence of the isoindole moiety can influence its reactivity and stability, which are important factors in its application in synthetic chemistry and pharmacology. As with many organic compounds, safety and handling precautions should be observed, as the specific toxicity and environmental impact may vary.

  • 2,3-Dihydro-1H-isoindole-2-carboxamide

    CAS:

2,3-Dihydro-1H-isoindole-2-carboxamide is a synthetic compound that inhibits the synthesis of monoacylglycerol. It is an inhibitor of the enzyme diacylglycerol lipase (DAGL). This inhibition causes an increase in the levels of free fatty acids and glycerol, which are substrates for triglyceride synthesis. The increased levels of free fatty acids have been shown to have protective effects on heart diseases, while the increase in glycerol decreases fat deposition in adipose tissue. 2,3-Dihydro-1H-isoindole-2-carboxamide has been used as a tool to study the contribution of DAGL to triglyceride biosynthesis in cell culture and animal models.
