CAS:Fipexide hydrochloride is a peptide that is used as a research tool to study the interactions between proteins and receptors. Fipexide hydrochloride is an inhibitor of ion channels, which are proteins that regulate the flow of ions (charged molecules) in and out of cells. It binds to the receptor site on ion channels, preventing ions from passing through. Fipexide hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the activity of ligand-gated ion channels, like nicotinic acetylcholine receptors or serotonin receptors. Fipexide hydrochloride has also been shown to bind with high affinity to erythrocyte membrane protein band 3 and interfere with its functions in the transport of potassium ions across the membrane.
