:Thiamine triphosphoric acid ester
Description:
Thiamine triphosphoric acid ester, also known as thiamine triphosphate (ThTP), is a phosphorylated derivative of thiamine (vitamin B1). It is characterized by its role as a coenzyme in various biochemical processes, particularly in carbohydrate metabolism. ThTP is involved in the transfer of phosphate groups, which is crucial for energy production in cells. The compound is typically a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water, reflecting its polar nature due to the presence of multiple phosphate groups. Thiamine triphosphate is known to play a significant role in nerve function and is essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system. Its stability can be influenced by pH and temperature, and it is sensitive to hydrolysis, which can lead to the release of thiamine and phosphate groups. Overall, ThTP is an important biochemical molecule that contributes to various metabolic pathways and cellular functions.

CAS:<p>Thiamine triphosphate is a coenzyme that plays an essential role in many biochemical reactions. It is a cofactor for pyruvate dehydrogenase, alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase, and transketolase. Thiamine triphosphate is required for the production of acetyl-CoA from carbohydrates and amino acids. This coenzyme also participates in the synthesis of thiamin, which is necessary for maintaining normal nerve function. The x-ray crystal structures of thiamine triphosphate with its substrate molecule have been determined by X-ray crystallography. These structures are available at PDB ID 1TMP and 1THP. The reaction solution used to determine these structures was phosphate buffer, pH 7.0, at 30 degrees Celsius. The receptor activity of this enzyme has been studied using rat brain homogenates following incubation with various concentrations of prasugrel (a substrate molecule).
