3,5-Dibromo-4-hydroxyphenyl-(2-ethyl-3-benzofuranyl)methanone (DBF) is a synthetic molecule that has been shown to be effective against obesity by reducing the size of fat cells. DBF binds to toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), which is involved in the inflammatory response, and inhibits its activation.
